Advantages and features of waste incineration
Reducing the volume of the garbage to be buried
The ordinary waste (garbage) and ordinal industrial waste can be completely incinerated at 850-1050 °C in an appropriate period of time. Production of hazardous gas (such as dioxin) is suppressed during the process. The weight of the garbage is reduced to one-sixth of its original weight and the volume is shrunk to one-tenth of the original size after the incineration. In a situation where the acquisition of landfills becomes more and more difficult, incineration of garbage is the most effective method to solve the waste problem.
Prevention of environmental pollution
The waste gas produced during the incineration of garbage is controlled by using the efficient high-performance cyclonic dust collector, semi-dry scrubber and bag filter dust collector. This combination, with an appropriate volume of agents (e.g. hydrated lime and active carbon), can effectively control the emissions of waste gas in compliance with the environmental protection regulations. (The emission standard of the plant is much lower than the applicable statutory standard.) As for prevention of noise, the plant uses the low-noised equipment and completely sound-insulating structure to eliminate the noise.
Effective management and operation
The plant uses the distributed control system (DCS) for the operation of the incinerator to ensure normal incineration when the nature of the garbage is changed. A steam turbine generator unit is set up to make use of the waste heat. The power generated is mainly used for the plant and the rest is sold to Taiwan Power Company and supplied to other users that need the power.
Recycling of water resources
Wastewater treatment equipment is set up in the plant. The wastewater produced is properly treated and all treated water resources are recycled for operation of the plant. This is an effective way to conserve tap water and ensure the zero-discharge of wastewater and recycling of water resources.
